Food at the Punta Cana Resort and the Westin Punta Cana vicinity

While we spent five days at the Westin Punta Cana, we also decided that we wanted to eat outside the resort for a few meals, as the food was relatively repetitive, even over the five days.
The first place that we ate was Playa Blanca, which is located just around the corner from the hotel along the beach. If you want, you can also take the hotel shuttle.

The restaurant is located on the beach and functions as a beach restaurant during the day. During the evening, we ate under the vaulted ceilings.

The menu was a bit more upscale compared to what was offered at the hotel. It reads as follows:
We both ordered an entree, which we both enjoyed, but the meals were not memorable. Overall the meal was good, but we didn’t return for another meal.
We also ate at El Burrito in Punta Cana Village. To get there, we took the shuttle from the hotel to the village (schedule here).
We found the food to be very reasonably priced and the drinks extremely strong. In fact, they offer half-priced Margaritas between 7 and 8 PM, which worked out to be only $2.50 for a margarita. The menu read as follows:
We ate at El Burrito three times and enjoyed the Fajitas each time. I think we wanted something fresh and reasonably priced, and El Burrito consistently provided us with this experience.
Overall, Punta Cana isn’t a foodie capital, but we managed to eat several good, reasonably priced meals while staying at the Westin Punta Cana.
